This directory links every procedure-by-metro price page we publish. Each page shows a typical price estimate plus lower-cost and higher-cost estimates, so you can gauge both a typical price and how widely the same procedure is billed within one area. The 12 combinations are estimates compiled from published price-transparency sources; treat them as estimates to compare against, not quotes.

Notes on this dataset

Estimated typical price ranges compiled from published consumer price-transparency sources (see source list). 'low' is a lower-cost estimate, 'typical' a middle-of-the-range estimate, and 'high' a higher-cost estimate; these are not the exact 10th/median/90th percentile of any single hospital sample. Imaging and outpatient figures (MRI, colonoscopy) are facility/procedure cash-price estimates that generally EXCLUDE separately-billed professional, anesthesia and radiologist-read fees. Inpatient figures (vaginal delivery, knee replacement) are broader all-in / total-cost estimates. Your actual price varies by hospital, setting and insurer — verify against the hospital's price-transparency machine-readable file and your insurer before scheduling.
